Job Details
You will have a PhD* or equivalent professional qualification and experience in Social Sciences (e.g. Criminology, Psychology), Health, or a related field. MSc in Public Health or Criminology, or a related field or equivalent research experience. Previous work experience with a vulnerable population (e.g. youth offenders, troubled families, homeless).
*Applications for Research Fellow positions will be considered from candidates who are working towards or nearing completion of a relevant PhD qualification. The title of Research Fellow will be applied upon successful completion of the PhD. Prior to the qualification being awarded the title of Senior Research Assistant will be given.
Experience with qualitative methods essential. Candidates will be able to demonstrate a sufficient knowledge of work systems, equipment processes and standard IT packages; including Microsoft Word and Outlook. Experience of Computer Assisted Qualitative Data Analysis Software would be desirable.
Key responsibilities will include: liaising effectively with research collaborators and reporting on study progress; coordinating and conducting face to face structured interviews of participants on the Gateway Project;facilitating focus group discussions (qualitative) with study participants. You will be responsible for the management of study documentation and coordination with the York Trials Unit. You will work with Hampshire Police; the York Trial Unit and other external agencies such as the NIHR Clinical Research Network.
