The Palliative Care Clinical Studies Collaborative (PaCCSC) is a member based research network that provides the infrastructure support for the conduct of clinical trials in palliative and supportive care. The PaCCSC is part of IMPACCT, and is based in the Faculty of Health.  We are looking to appoint a Research Assistant with strengths in research data administration.

 

About the Role

As a Research Assistant you will contribute to the smooth operation of PaCCSC, in particular the data administration functions for the smooth conduct of a range of clinical trials and associated activities and provide high quality data administration services which support the effective operations of the national office of the PaCCSC.

 

In this role you will:

  • Manage  the development and execution of architectures, policies, and procedures that efficiently and effectively manage the data lifecycle for a range of clinical trials
  • Plan, organise, describe and control the associated research data resources to maximise the efficiency of the data management system
  • Develop and maintain appropriate data dictionaries and other tools to help maintain consistency and avoid redundancy
  • Assist in the preparation of data for the purposes of input into manuscripts and reports
  • Provide data support to the RAPID Pharmacovigilance program of studies.

 

About You

You are well organised and have strong time management and high level communication skills. You will have previous experience working on research in cancer or palliative care coupled with well-developed skills in project management and research data management systems and software.

 

You will also bring:

  • Experience in developing materials that support the research process
  • Understanding of the clinical trials data management requirements
  • Demonstrated capacity to use a range of software packages; ie: Excel, SPSS (or similar), Access, MSOffice, EndNote, NVivo, REDCap, Medrio, OpenClinica
  • Ability to work at a high level of accuracy and detail, whilst frequently working under pressure and quickly respond to many ad hoc requests while maintaining excellent work presentation.

Base Salary Range: pro rata $79,217 to $85,772 pa (HEW 6)

This role attracts 9.5% superannuation in addition to the base salary.

This position is part-time (0.8FTE) and appointment will be made on a fixed term basis for nine months.
