Job Details

The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Basel invites applications for a professorship in medieval art history, beginning 1 February 2020.

Your position

The position is part of the Department of Arts, Media, and Philosophy.

We expect the professor to be active in the BA and MA programs in art history, in the MA pro-gram on art history and image theory, in the doctoral program eikones, and in Basel's interdisci-plinary cluster on medieval studies. The successful candidate should be dedicated to teaching, participate in national and international research projects, secure external funding for projects, and be active in university committees.

Your profile

We are searching for someone who can cover the field of medieval art history in teaching and scholarship with a reasonable historical and geographic breadth and a theoretical as well as methodological profile.

Applicants should demonstrate an outstanding publication record and show international scholarly activities since receiving their PhD.
