Go Higher West Yorkshire, a partnership of 12 Higher Education Providers in West Yorkshire, is looking to appoint a Higher Education Progression Officer to support the delivery of our National Collaborative Outreach Programme (NCOP), funded by Office for Students (OfS) NCOP identifies and addresses issues which prevent young people entering Higher Education. We work with young people living in areas where progression is low overall, and particularly low when GCSE attainment is taken into account. Working with a selected group of KS4 and KS5 students from across Ruth Gorse Academy, you will support their aspirations, applications and transition into Higher Education. You will ensure that all who have the potential to succeed have the opportunity to do so. You will be responsible for developing a sustained and progressive programme of activity for your target group, ensuring the effective involvement of parents/carers, staff and others in the project. You will be responsible for the day to day operation of the programme, arranging events and activities which respond to the needs of your target group. This will include working closely with Senior Leadership Team, teaching staff, careers staff, the wider NCOP team and external providers of activity. You will be required to work on a flexible basis, which will include some evening, weekend and school holiday work. You will be based within Ruth Gorse Academy, Black Bull Street, Leeds LS10 1HWThe post is offered on a term time only plus up to 15 days basis
