    The Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences is one of five faculties at the University of Adelaide. Comprised of five schools and a number of disciplines, research centres and institutes, the faculty is focused on education excellence and innovative research in the health sciences.

    The Adelaide Medical School encompasses the disciplines of General Practice, Anatomy and Pathology, Medical Specialities, Paediatrics and Reproductive health, Rural Health and Surgical Specialties. It is one of five schools in the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences and is made up of academics, researchers and clinical titleholders.

    These roles are based in the Discipline of Anatomy and Pathology teaching undergraduate courses focusing on pathophysiology, neuroscience, human biology and human gross anatomy.

    Working within a high achieving team, you will need to demonstrate a passion and capability for teaching, curriculum development and course coordination with a strong track record for continual improvement and innovation.

    There are two roles available, one with a teaching focus and the other a teaching/research role, please see below the qualifying factors for both these separate roles.

    Salary: (Level B) $96,135 - $113,788 per annum.

    Superannuation: An employer contribution of 17% may apply.

    Term of position: These are full time continuing positions available immediately.

    Position requirements

    To be successful in the teaching focussed role you should have:

    • A PhD qualification in a relevant area.
    • Demonstrated skills and experience in the preparation and delivery of lectures, tutorials, demonstrations and workshops; as well as marking and assessment activities; and a commitment to excellence in teaching
    • Course coordination of large courses (>100 students) and the management of teaching and learning resources and staffing
    • Experience in teaching undergraduate pathophysiology, neuroscience, human biology and human gross anatomy
    • Experience in the development of innovative teaching methods and curriculum
    • High level interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
    • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment
    • Demonstrated commitment to professional activity.

     

    To be successful in the teaching/research role you should have:

    • A PhD qualification in a relevant area
    • Demonstrated skills and experience in the preparation and delivery of lectures, tutorials, demonstrations and workshops; as well as marking and assessment activities; and a commitment to excellence in teaching
    • Course coordination of large courses (>100 students) and the management of teaching and learning resources and staffing
    • Experience in teaching undergraduate pathophysiology, neuroscience, human biology and human gross anatomy
    • Experience in the development of innovative teaching methods and curriculum
    • High level interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
    • A record of peer-reviewed publications at a national level
    • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment
    • Demonstrated commitment to professional activity
    • Experience in supervising Honours and Higher Degree by Research students
    • Experience applying for competitive grants.
