Dean of the School of Architecture, Civil and Environmental Engineering

EPFL - Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne - invites applications for the position of Dean of the School of Architecture, Civil and Environmental Engineering (ENAC). With an international reputation for excellence, EPFL is one of the foremost European institutions of science and technology. It is characterized by a unique and vibrant learning and research environment, with its main campus located in the French-speaking part of Switzerland, on the shore of Lake Geneva.

Reporting to the President as part of EPFL's senior management, the Dean of ENAC leads the strategic development of the school, provides vision and leadership for its teaching, research and outreach activities, and is responsible for its administration. ENAC is currently active in 3 main areas: Architecture, Civil Engineering and Environmental Sciences and Engineering. It provides cutting-edge education in these 3 areas, thereby nurturing the future generations of innovative architects, engineers and scientists.

The successful candidate will have an outstanding academic record in one of the aforementioned 3 areas. Key attributes of this role include success in building diverse, collaborative teams, working with a range of internal and external partners, development of transversal and interdisciplinary initiatives, as well as experience in fundraising.

The position offers competitive personal compensation, and tenure at the full professor level. The successful candidate will be appointed Dean of ENAC for at least one term of 4 years, starting in 2019.
