Job Purpose

To deliver the MICRA project, for day to day activities and administration for the duration of the project. The role will involve duties such as monitoring/collection of project deliverables, monitoring and reviewing financial expenditure and the communication of information, guidance and regulations to project participants. The post holder will also plan and organise a wide range of events, meetings, training workshops and Business Development Networking events.

 

Person Specification

  • Graduate or relevant working experience.
  • Experience within accountancy or financial environment including demonstrable ability of preparation and monitoring of budgets and ability to cost activities.
  • Experience of managing complex information and presenting this in a clear and easily understandable format
  • Experience of working within projects funded through public funds (national, regional or EU)
  • Experience of working with small businesses, investors or university ‘Technology Transfer Offices' (TTO)
  • Experience of working with companies in high-technology sectors
  • Organised individual who has the ability to manipulate a large amount of information.
  • A good level of numeracy and knowledge/understanding of accounting and financial practices, methods and systems
  • Ability to summarise complex issues/concepts and present them appropriately for a range of audiences.
  • Ability to plan, manage and prioritise own workload, respond to changing priorities and deliver work to deadlines maintaining a consistently high standard
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work closely with other people at all levels of seniority, both within and outside the University.
  • Excellent communication skills: oral, written and presentational.
  • Ability to implement processes and identify where processes or procedures might be improved.
  • Ability to understand complex regulations and work appropriately to those regulations
  • Confident IT skills particularly spreadsheets (Excel): Excellent experience Microsoft Office is essential and previous use of Coda, Business Objects and Microsoft Project would be advantageous
