Job Details
The Department of Biomedicine (DBM) belongs to the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Basel, Switzerland. The DBM promotes basic and translational biomedical research at the highest international level. Our interdisciplinary PhD program is associated with the PhD program in Molecular and Cellular Biology offered by the Biozentrum. Around 120 PhD students enrolled in the PhD program of the Faculty of Science perform their thesis in one of the 60 research labs.

Your position
Students admitted to the program receive theoretical and practical training, and conduct a research project under the supervision of a DBM research group leader. A rich program of courses, lectures, workshops and conferences organized by the Department of Biomedicine and the Biozentrum are offered to the students. PhD fellows attend yearly scientific meetings (DBM PhD scientific retreat) and have the opportunity to participate at scientific seminars and career guidance events (see PhD Club).

Your profile
The successful candidate is expected to have:
- Master degree/diploma. The Master degree must qualify for the PhD subject. and must be approved by the University of Basel.
- Very good command of spoken and written English (Cambridge level C2 or equivalent)
