Job Details

Do you have a knowledge of voluntary organisations?

Can you champion community based teaching within a successful medical school and its local community?

This is an exciting opportunity for you to become an integral part of the School of Medicine and to make a real contribution to the effective organisation and development of community involvement in our curriculum. You will liaise regularly with a diverse mix of community groups, looking to build long term relationships that help the medical school deliver a high quality student education in the community and which also supports local voluntary organisations to grow. You will champion the promotion of community based teaching (CBT) and contribute as part of a team to the development and implementation of CBT schemes in curriculum development which follows the introduction of the new curriculum in line with GMC, BMA and Department of Health initiatives. You will possess excellent organisational and communication skills, along with a knowledge of voluntary organisations. Within the team you will support the integration of our local community into the medical education curriculum to fulfil the objectives of the MBChB programme. Your role will have a particular emphasis on supporting the Campus to Clinic (CtoC), IDEALS and RESS components of the MBChB.
