Research Engineer for Mobile Network Evaluations

A Research Engineer is sought for incorporation into the DALI project, which targets implementing the Dual Connectivity (DC)  functionality of LTE in ns-3 simulator as required by the ORCA Open Call 2 Extension 3 [REF1]. Another important value proposition of DALI is the complementary DC implementation built on the open-source LTE/EPC software provided by Open Air Interface project. This way, the APIs interfacing these software toolsets will provide a multitude of SDR platform options to the experimenters, along with different feature sets inherent to these underlying software.

The ns-3 based DC implementation is expected to attract the scientific community due to its more user-friendly development environment and the shallow learning-curve, albeit its simplified LTE/EPC implementation. The OAI-based implementation, on the other hand, is expected to attract the industrial community thanks to OAI's more complete LTE/EPC implementation, its compatibility testings with commercial products, and the many industrial members involved in its development.

The initial appointment will be for 1 year, with the renewal of contract subject to candidate's performance.
