    The Australian Stuttering Research Centre conducts research around the nature and cause of the disorder of stuttering, and how it can be treated during childhood, adolescence and adulthood. The Centre has a clinic providing treatment for all age groups. The Centre also operates a continuing education program for speech pathologists, graduate and undergraduate professional preparation coursework, and supervision of research by higher degree students.

    We are seeking an experienced and professional speech pathologist with strong clinical skills and previous experience with clinical research to provide support for the research activities conducted at the Centre.

     

    About the Role

    In this role you will provide speech pathology assessment and treatment services for children and adults who stutter in accordance with the research protocols and Centre procedures.  You will also  manage the co-ordination of research studies including assessing and recruiting participants, performing administrative tasks associated with clinical trials and laboratory studies, such as recruiting participants and data entry and preparing ethics applications and documents for Human Research Ethics Committees and Clinical Trial Governance.
     
     

    About You

    You will have considerable experience treating adults and children who stutter along with sound knowledge of the Lidcombe and Camperdown programs and procedures. You will have previous experience supporting research including adherence to research protocols, recruiting participants and managing data.

    You will also bring to this role:

    • An undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Speech Pathology  and eligibility for Speech Pathology Australia membership
    • Awareness of Human Research Ethical procedures for the preparation of ethics applications for research
    • •Experience developing and maintaining databases for the purpose of research and adhering to data management protocols
    • Demonstrated ability to conduct basic data analysis and prepare summary statistics
    • Well-developed negotiation, conflict resolution, relationship building and influencing skills
    • Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing day to day workplace demands
    • An interest in enrolling in a postgraduate masters or doctoral research degree.

    Remuneration & Benefits

    Base Salary Range: $87,414 pa - $96,701pa (HEW 7)

    This role attracts 17%  superannuation in addition to the base salary.

    This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a fixed term basis for 12 months with the potential for extension.
