An exciting opportunity for 2 Research Associates in Human Geography (or similar social sciences background) is available to work in highly interdisciplinary projects lead by a Human Geographer based at Bristol Veterinary School. These posts will benefit from and will be expected to enhance the School's growing collaboration with the School of Geographical Sciences and other departments within the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law.

Based at the Langford Campus with field work in Colombia, the projects seek to improve our understanding of the hydrological resources afforded by páramos with an aim to establish how its diversity of habitats and plants contribute to water regulation. These posts will focus on understanding farmers' and indigenous populations' knowledge and practices to protect these socio-ecological systems, particularly their water regulation functions.

These projects are funded under the “Exploring & Understanding Colombia Bioresources NERC-AHRC Call and would suit candidates with backgrounds in Human Geography, Anthropology, Sociology or similar. Candidates with interests in water, environmental politics, farming, knowledge and politics, post-conflict societies or Colombia are particularly encouraged to apply.
