Junior Lecturer / Lecturer

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Prepare course materials such as syllabi assignments, assessments, and handouts.
  • Prepare and deliver lectures to undergraduate and/or postgraduate students.
  • Evaluate and grade students' class work, assignment papers and exams.
  • Conduct high level research and produce research outputs for publication in accredited journals.
  • Compile, administer, and grade examinations.
  • Participate in community service.
  • Market the department at schools and during UFS open days.
  • Be available for consulting students.

 

Inherent requirements:

Junior Lecturer:

  • Honour's Degree in Industrial Psychology or Human Resources Management.
  • A good academic record.

 

Lecturer:

  • Master's degree in Industrial Psychology or Human Resource Management.
  • Proven experience in the delivery of poster and/or oral presentations at conferences or equivalent activities.
  • Provide evidence of manuscripts produced that have the potential to be converted or submitted for publications, ideally in an accredited journal.
  • A good academic record.

  • Good verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
  • Computer literacy

 

Recommendations:

  • Junior Lecturer - Willingness to enrol for a Master's degree.
  • Lecturer - Willingness to enrol for a PhD degree.
  • Professional registration with the South African Board of People Practice (SABPP) or Health Professional Council of South Africa (HPCSA) will serve as a recommendation.
  • Practical experience in the field of Human Resource Management or Industrial Psychology.
  • Proven record of recent research involvement.
  • Relevant teaching experience in the higher education sector.
