Duties and responsibilities:

  • Write job descriptions and job profiles in collaboration with the HR Business Partners and Head of Departments.
  • Responsible for the full life-cycle recruiting activities, including developing search/sourcing strategies, reviewing applicants, screening, interviewing and evaluating candidates, initiating assessments, coordinating the interview process and supporting the selection process.
  • Maintain candidate engagement, provide a positive and strong candidate experience, while maintaining responsive and continuous communication.
  • Provide advice and support to managers and all levels of staff regarding recruitment activities and ensure that good practice, latest thinking and research are presented to managers as appropriate so that sound talent management decisions are made.
  • Ensure alignment of al HR processes and provide innovative HR solutions.
  • Provide professional, knowledgeable and friendly services to clients, ensuring a prompt response to queries and requests.


Inherent requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in human resources or a related discipline.
  • Four (4) years extensive appropriate experience in recruitment matters as described in the above-mentioned duties, of which two (2) years should be experience in dealing with senior appointments. 

Required competencies:

  • Thorough understanding of HR theories and best practices.
  • Sound knowledge of business drivers and trends as well as environmental factors which influence and shape HR strategies.
  • Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, compensation and benefits, labour relations and negotiation.
  • Business acumen.

  • Leading.
  • Building coalition.


Recommendations:

  • A relevant honours degree in human resources or a related discipline.
  • Two (2) to three (3) years' relevant working experience in Higher Education.
