The role

The School of Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences is currently seeking an Associate Lecturer to teach into, and further develop, the Bachelor of Health, Sport and Physical Education (Hons) program specifically using recent professional practice. The appointee will undertake undergraduate teaching, research, university service and community engagement activities associated with the School and The Centre for Sport in Society. The position will be based at The University of Queensland's St Lucia campus.

 

The person

Candidates should possess current accreditation with the Queensland College of Teachers (or equivalent) and possess recency of professional practice in Queensland schools. Applicants should have expertise in high quality teaching in Health, Sport, and Physical Education at the undergraduate level, an in-depth knowledge of the Australian Curriculum (Health and Physical Education and relevant pedagogies and assessment practices), and evidence of leadership within the Health, Sport, and Physical Education profession. The person should have high level verbal and written communication skills, high level organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.

The roles are a 0.6 FTE and a full-time position; however flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.

Remuneration

There are two positions a full-time and a part-time (0.6 FTE), fixed term 2 year appointment at Academic level A. The remuneration package will be in the range $64,533.50 - $87,535.13 p.a. FTE, plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $75,504.19 - $102,416.10 p.a.).
