Job Purpose

The post holder is expected to contribute to the achievement of the School's research strategy by developing and undertaking new research activities on the subject of ‘solid-liquid flows'.

The aim is to explore and study in detail the multi-scale flow of solid-liquid suspensions experimentally and theoretically. The project is predominantly experimental and requires the development of experimental rigs and techniques, and the use of various instruments and methods to study solid-liquid flow behaviour and rheology in flow systems of varying geometries and scales. The work will also involve the development of analytical models to describe such complex flows.

Over the lifetime of the project, the postholder will be expected to collaborate with our academic partners at the University of Surrey and at Daresbury Laboratory and to interact with industrial collaborators.
