Job Details

Are you an experienced and ambitious researcher looking for your next challenge?

Do you have a background in energy research?

Do you want to further your career in one of the UK's leading research intensive Universities?

You will have the opportunity to contribute to an EPSRC funded project aiming to demonstrate reductions in the energy requirements, costs, greenhouse gas emissions (CO2, N2O) and environmental impacts expected from the UK-wide deployment of H2 production from anaerobic digestion (AD) biogas by reforming it on site with the ammonia-rich digestate liquor. This project brings together a team of expert researchers in wastewater treatment, biogas production from organic wastes, H2 production and energy systems across three research groups from the Faculty of Engineering. In addition there is active collaboration with the UK Water Industry, AD sector, H2 production industry, and academic partners in India, China and Thailand. You will have either a PhD (or close to completion) in a relevant area of engineering or a relevant science undergraduate degree with evidence of expertise in energy processes, together with experience of developing models of energy technologies and an enthusiastic, proactive approach to multidisciplinary research which will enable you to make a positive contribution to the research ethos in the School.
