The University of Queensland Press (UQP) was established in 1948 and is one of Australia's oldest and most respected publishing houses. We publish print and ebooks across a range of subjects, from literary fiction, general non-fiction and poetry, to children's and young adult books and academic books.

 

The role

UQP is seeking an organised and professional Editorial and Production Assistant to provide administrative and production support to its publishing team of seven staff. Applicants with a diploma level qualification in publishing and editing or relevant book-industry work experience will be highly regarded. This is an entry-level position into the book publishing industry.

 

The person

The successful applicant will possess highly developed organisational skills, a positive and motivated attitude, and the ability to prioritise and undertake a wide range of administrative tasks with accuracy, timeliness and flexibility. He or she will have strong communication skills, demonstrated proficiency in English grammar and spelling, experience with the MS Office suite and Adobe InDesign, and be able to work effectively in a team environment.

 

Remuneration

This is a fixed-term appointment at HEW Level 4. The remuneration package will be in the range $ $59,429.60- $ $63,305.88 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $69,532.63 - $74,067.88 p.a.).
