Job Details
The Faculty of Business, Economics and Law aims to provide a world-class business, economics and law education that opens minds and facilitates possibilities for our students, alumni, staff and the broader community. The Faculty incorporates the UQ Business School, the School of Economics, the TC Beirne School of Law, the Australian Institute for Business & Economics and the Centre for the Business & Economics of Health.
The Faculty offers a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate programs to approximately 11,000 students which allow for a wide range of specialisations or concentrations, with a high degree of relevance to employers.
The role
The Communications and Engagement Manager will plan, develop and manage content and communications strategies to profile the Faculty and Schools of Economics and Law.
The successful appointee will be responsible for our presence across digital and engagement channels including the website, media, social, publications and internal communications.
The role will provide advice and implement plans for announcing major initiatives, projects, new programs and events, and ensure our student, staff, research and alumni success stories are shared to strengthen relationships and collaborations.
The position is within the Faculty Marketing and Communications Team and is a key conduit between the Faculty and UQ's central media team.
The person
Applicants should possess qualifications in relevant disciplines and exceptional writing expertise with impeccable grammar, attention to detail and proven editing experience.
At least five years' experience managing corporate communications and strategic content for an organisation will be required, with demonstrated ability to write engagingly for various target audiences across a variety of mediums and channels.
A high level of interpersonal and oral communication skills including the ability to interview key spokespeople and VIPs, and liaise with a wide range of individuals is required, along with a proven ability to pitch to the media and media contacts.
Candidates should also possess staff management experience and a passion for delivering great work as part of a high-performing team.
Remuneration
This is a full-time, fixed term position (14 months) at HEW Level 7. The remuneration package will be in the range $81,883.65- $89,559.15 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 9.5%.
