We are seeking a Senior Research Associate to assist in a project to investigate Innovative and Promising Practices in Social Work with Older People. This project is aimed at developing an evidence base in innovative and promising practices, which will be the basis of further research and developmental work in professional practice with older people. The University of Bristol is working in partnership with social work professional bodies and specialist gerontology researchers. The project is funded by the National Institute for Health Research - School for Social Care Research.

The Senior Research Associate will play a key role in the research team which is conducting case studies of examples of innovative and promising practice. They will coordinate a range of tasks, including arranging fieldwork visits, collecting relevant documentation and liaising with relevant organisations. They will take part in fieldwork interviews and in the analysis of data collected.  

You should have previous research experience in a social work-related area, preferably with older people. You should have knowledge of qualitative research methods, excellent interviewing skills, and well-developed analytical skills, including in the analysis of documents.  It is essential that you have a post-graduate qualification, or equivalent level qualification, in a relevant discipline e.g. social work, psychology, social research methods.

The post is fixed term until 30 March 2019.  An immediate start would be preferable.
