Job Details

As part of a maternity cover within Academic Staff Development, we have a 12-month opportunity for someone to manage the design, development and delivery of our leadership and management development provision for academic staff. You will use your leadership and management development knowledge along with your design and delivery expertise to create innovative, engaging and sustainable programmes to support the University's strategy.

You will be part of the Academic Staff Development (ASD) team at Bristol which aims to enhance and support excellence in academic practice at Bristol across leadership, professional skills, research and teaching, working with staff across all three academic pathways. You will therefore work closely with the Head of ASD and colleagues within the team to ensure the provision of an integrated development offer covering all elements of an academic's role. You will also work with colleagues in Professional Services Staff Development on joint provision for senior leaders.

ASD sits within Organisation Development (OD) in HR and part of the role will be to support the Head of ASD with an OD project to reduce the professorial gender pay gap. You will be involved indeveloping and delivering a number of strategic leadership development initiatives working with senior leaders across the University.

You will be expected to effectively initiate, procure, organise, co-ordinate and oversee the implementation of a range of programmes and activities using both internal and external experts. You will also be using your own delivery and facilitation expertise with academic leaders and managers.

The deadline for applications is 11.59pm on Sunday 28 October 2018. The interview will be on Wednesday 7 November 2018.

For more information please get in touch with Simon Swales, Acting Head of ASD (0117 3940752 or simon.swales@bristol.ac.uk).
