    The Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB) is a long standing unit of the University of Adelaide which offers a system of graded music and speech examinations and supportive publications related to its syllabus and examinations. The AMEB examines several thousand candidates in Music and Speech annually engaging approximately 90 examiners. AMEB supports approximately 1,000 teachers across South Australia and the Northern Territory.

     

    The AMEB State Manager is to oversee and implement all operations of the organisation in South Australia and the Northern Territory complying with all AMEB federal, local and University of Adelaide regulations, guidelines, policies and procedures.  This includes the AMEB examination process, all financial management, recruitment, office management and forward planning. This position will receive broad direction working with a degree of autonomy.

     

    Salary: (HEO8) $95,493 - $107,179 per annum

    Superannuation: An employer contribution of 17% may apply

    Term of position: This continuing position is available from 27 November 2018

    Eligibility Criteria: Police/Working with Children Clearance required

     

    Position requirements

    To be successful you should have:

    • Substantial previous management experience and /or demonstrated skills in strategic planning
    • Experience in supervising staff within a team environment
    • Highly developed organisational skills and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
    • Ability to work independently, show initiative and work productively as part of a team
    • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise with a wide variety of stakeholders
    • Understanding of music examination systems

     

    Qualifications

    Post graduate qualifications in Music or progress towards post graduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or extensive experience and management expertise; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/ training.
