  • The School of Public Health provides undergraduate and postgraduate education in health sciences, counselling, psychotherapy, public health, health economics, epidemiology and biostatistics.

 

In this role, you will contribute to the Counselling and Psychotherapy Post-graduate suite of courses through a) learning and teaching activities. This may involve course coordination and teaching, including course design, preparation and delivery of course materials, communication with students, management of guest lecturers as appropriate, and, design and marking of assessments; b) clinical placement activities. This may involve clinical supervision of counselling placement students on or off-site. Applicants are encouraged to consider their capacity to teach into some or all of the full suite of courses offered within the Masters Program.

While this position is required for up to a maximum of 0.7FTE, there may be some flexibility to job share, and a reduced FTE may be considered/negotiated.

Salary

(Level A) $67,894 - $91,425 per annum / (Level B) $96,135 - $113,788. Level dependent on successful applicants experience.

Superannuation

An employer contribution of 9.5% will apply.

Term of position

This fixed-term contract is available 2nd January 2019 until 31st December 2019.

Position requirements

To be successful you should have:

Level A

  • Academic post-graduate qualifications in a discipline relevant to the program and professional counselling experience
  • Eligibility for membership of the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) and/or the Australian Counselling Association (ACA)
  • High level interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in in the preparation and delivery of lectures, tutorials, demonstrations or workshops; as well as marking and assessment activities
  • Proven ability to work with initiative and minimum supervision
  • Involvement in professional activity and a commitment to ongoing learning

Level B

All of the above and:

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a broad range of stakeholders, including academic staff, guest lecturers, and administrative staff
  • Demonstrated skills, experience, and qualifications in the provision of individual and group supervision of client-counselor counselling practice
  • Experience in course coordination
