Radiation Oncology section at Aga Khan University Hospital is equipped with 2 Varian Medical Linear accelerators, 1 HDR Brachytherapy Afterloader, 1 Varian Simulator, Mold Room and a PET-CT Simulator.
Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Trainee Radiotherapy Technologists
Radiation Therapy Technologists are highly qualified skilled professionals working in healthcare organizations. The Radiation Therapy Technologist certificate programme is designed to produce highly trained personnel who can make a direct contribution to the improvement of healthcare through better radiation therapy practices.
Responsibilities
Trainees will be provided exposure in the following areas:
- handling patients with cancer and physiologically depressed
- monitoring patient condition and side effect during radiotherapy procedures
- maintaining and updating patient records and documentation
- quality assurance of treatment machines (Linacs, simulation and brachy therapy) and
- treatment plans
- consulting and collaborating with consulting Physicians and other medical professionals in providing radiotherapy treatments
- providing quality radiotherapy treatment to the highest possible levels
- educating patients and their families about treatment
- compliance with organizational policies and standards of quality care.
Requirements
You must possess:
- BSc from a recognized university
- good communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to work in a team
- ability to handle multiple tasks.
Full-time employment may be offered upon successful completion of the traineeship programme and availability of the vacant position.
