  • Can you provide a world-class research-lead teaching experience in cutting-edge biomechanics?
  •

We are seeking a highly motivated and successful biomechanist to contribute and further enhance the world-class research and teaching within Sport and Exercise Sciences at the University of Leeds. The Sport and Exercise Sciences research group were ranked 1st for ‘World Leading' 4* research in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF) and the University obtained Gold in the recent TEF awards, this is therefore a chance to join a sector-leading group within the UK.Embedded within Sports and Exercise Sciences you will work as part of a vibrant, dynamic research group and will complement and enhance our current research portfolio. This includes work aimed at understanding how muscles are used during locomotion, including links between musculoskeletal design, locomotor performance and energetics, as well as rehabilitation following spinal cord injury. We also study human mechanics in sport and injury including the impact of prosthesis design and footwear on the kinematics and kinetics of walking and running as well as the biomechanics of performance rowing. To complement our existing research we welcome applications from candidates who have a human focussed research portfolio related to these areas, but equally welcome applications from across all areas of biomechanics, which could include health, clinical and sport performance related research. The key requirements are research excellence in biomechanics and the ability to teach biomechanics at an undergraduate and postgraduate level.
