    The Leeds Institute of Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal Medicine, University of Leeds works in close collaboration with the Departments of Rheumatology and Orthopaedics within the Chapel Allerton CSU of the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. Within this unit are the Arthritis Research UK funded Leeds Experimental Osteoarthritis Treatment Centre and Osteoarthritis Research Group, led by Professor Philip Conaghan.

    Duties

    You will provide a wide range of support for the Osteoarthritis Research Group's clinical research activities and the senior academic staff. Duties of the post will include responsibility for set-up and coordination of the group's clinical studies. You will implement quality assurance and audit programmes, ensuring compliance with the statutory requirements of the recent legislation regarding clinical trials of investigational medicinal products and supporting the research team with participant recruitment and successful delivery of clinical studies.

    Requirements

    You should have a degree in a basic science or other related subject or equivalent relevant qualification/experience. Effective communication, organisational and prioritising skills with an ability to meet tight deadlines, along with well-developed computer skills and excellent attention to detail are essential. This post is based in the Leeds Institute of Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal Medicine and Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust within Chapel Allerton Hospital but may also include visiting participating sites.  

     

    This post is available immediately for a fixed term (to 31 December 2019) to coordinate specific osteoarthritis research projects and clinical trials from set-up and recruitment through to trial closure and analysis.
