Finance at UQ operates within a devolved environment with Finance staff located in Professional Services teams in Faculties, Research Institutes and Central Divisions supported by Finance specialist service teams. The position is part of the Collections and Receivables team within the Financial Operations team for Finance.
The role
With a key focus to minimise bad debt exposure through proactive management and collection of all aged debt of the University, this role offers the opportunity to demonstrate your advanced analytical, organisational and negotiation skills. Key responsibilities include performing credit risk assessments; monitoring approved credit limit exposures; improving the performance of aged debt within agreed collection guidelines; identifying and investigating doubtful debt and preparing reports for bad debt; liaising with key stakeholders on debt recovery and how to achieve agreeable outcomes; working with the University's external debt collection agency; contacting delinquent accounts to make arrangements for payment; liaising with staff at all levels throughout the UQ community.
The person
Applicants should possess a relevant degree with extensive relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training; current AICM membership is highly desirable; specialist expertise of credit control processes with demonstrable ability implementing strategies to minimise exposure to bad debt; technical proficiency in the use of software applications; excellent verbal and written communication skills; exceptional customer service, interpersonal and relationship management skills; high level problem solving and analytical skills; excellent organisational skills with proven experience to manage work priorities, set realistic goals and meet tight deadlines; possess the ability to work autonomously and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
Remuneration
This is a full-time, continuing appointment at HEW Level 6 with a flexible, late January 2019 start date. The remuneration package will be in the range $75,957 - $81,714 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $88,869 - $95,605 p.a.).
