Job Details
The Pro Vice-Chancellor will seek to shape Bristol's teaching and learning activity such that it is oriented to the needs of a modern-day student body. With a continued focus on high-calibre, inspiring and challenging pedagogy, education at the University is supported by a highly engaged campus life, resulting in successful learning outcomes. The post-holder will work with academic and professional colleagues to develop an innovative approach to curricula, embracing digitisation and encouraging experimentation in and outside of the classroom. Alongside an inaugural Pro Vice-Chancellor for the Student Experience, the Pro Vice-Chancellor for Education will be a visible senior champion for student affairs and the student experience more widely as this relates to educational quality within Bristol.
The new Pro Vice-Chancellor will bring a record of senior administration in a higher education context, a proven commitment to teaching and learning improvement, and an excellent insight to and awareness of the wider student experience context. The postholder will be a highly able and visionary leader; someone who is able to work effectively with and inspire the University Executive, the academic community and senior professional colleagues.
