Summary of Opportunity
The Department of Neurology at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, announces the search for a neurologist, fellowship trained in Movement Disorders to join its growing Neurodegenerative disease program. Applicants must have a strong interest in patient care, basic or clinical research, and the teaching of medical students and residents. Qualified applicants will possess an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. with BE/BC in Neurology along with additional training from a movement disorder fellowship program. The successful candidate will be in possession of or be eligible to obtain an unrestricted medical license from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Temple University Hospital Neurodegenerative Disease Center is developing a multidisciplinary approach with wrap around care for evaluating and treating patients with all forms of movement disorders. A highly skilled, multidisciplinary medical team of neurologists and neurosurgeons along with physical therapists, case management, clinical nurse educators, and mental health specialists will offer comprehensive diagnostic and treatment capabilities that provide patients with the most advanced treatments available today in a compassionate one stop setting. The Center not only is dedicated to excellence in diagnosis, treatment, and education, but is committed to clinical research including trials, patient registries, and tissue banking of samples. The clinical enterprise will be actively engaged with our Neuroscience Institute to promote collaborative and translational research. Candidates for this position will have an opportunity to play an integral role in the design and implementation of the Movement Disorder program at Temple Health.
