Total salary will be equivalent to a consultant level salary of $242,510 per annum with salary and allowances split across the two institutions as follows: NALHN (0.4 FTE); UoA (0.6 FTE)

An employer contribution of 17% superannuation (UoA) and 9.5% superannuation (NALHN) applies to the relevant salary component paid by each institution.

The successful candidate will be appointed to a continuing position at both the University of Adelaide and Northern Adelaide Local Health Network with two separate employment contracts issued.

Supervise junior medical staff and provide leadership in teaching and research in the Adelaide Medical School, and in service and policy development at the Women's and Children's Hospital.

The position will be located within the Adelaide Medical School or its affiliated research and teaching spaces, with clinical services and duties provided in the Women's and Babies Division, Northern Adelaide Local Health Network.  The appointee will further develop Obstetrics and Gynaecology Medicine as an academic entity within the Lyell McEwin Hospital.

To be successful you will need:

  • Registered as a medical practitioner and specialist obstetrician and gynaecologist with AHPRA.
  • FRANZCOG (or equivalent).
  • Track record in administration, research and teaching commensurate with level.
  • Higher research degree (MD or PhD) or working towards same.
  • Experience in conducting high quality research in a recognised area of strength within the Discipline of Obstetrics and Gynaecology
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching both undergraduate and post-graduate students in a tertiary clinical and academic setting
