Senior Researcher specialist in waste treatment and valorisation at BETA Technological Center

BETA Technological Center is formed by a multidisciplinary young team of more than 25 researchers, and we are looking to incorporate a dynamic person willing to be part of our project. The candidate must be a senior researcher expert in the treatment and valorization of waste (solid waste and wastewater), and should have experience in both, experimental work and project management. 

The selected candidate will be actively working in the execution and coordination of several activities linked with European projects funded by H2020 or other EU programs (LIFE, Interreg), as well as in different private R&D projects. The candidate will be also involved in the preparation of new project proposals to find new opportunities in this field.

Requirements

• PhD in Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology or equivalent
• More than 3 years of experience in R&D activities in the field of environmental technologies. 
• Experience in project management at national and international level.
• Level B2 in english
• Experience in:
• Solid waste and wastewater treatment and valorisation.
• Design, operation and optimization of bioreactors and/or other technologies.
• Experience in programming for process simulation and control (Matlab, Labview or similar).
• Experimental design and analysis of the obtained results.
• Writing technical reports and scientific papers.
• High communication skills, relationships and teamwork.
• European driving license.

The researcher will develop his/her activity in the Solid Waste Management research line and among others will participate in the following research project "Scale-up of low-carbon footprint material recovery techniques in existing wastewater treatment plants - SMART-PLANT" Grant Agreement number 690323, financed by European Program H2020.

Incorporation in the professional group of PDI of the UVic-UCC, in the category of Research Collaborator.

Temporary work contract of 3 years linked to the project of treatment and valorization of waste with the possibility to have a permanent position in CT BETA
