HIV Programme Coordinator (post level 9)

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for general administrative and financial responsibilities.
  • Responsible for a project management, such as, arranging and conducting awareness and testing campaigns.
  • Coordinate and support students involved in the Peer Education programme.
  • Conduct workshops and training sessions for peer educators on topics of health promotion and prevention.
  • Develop training material in line with programme outcomes.
  • Responsible for implementation of prevention programmes and initiatives.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Responsible for data capturing and analysis in relation to reporting internally and to third stream funders.
  • Apply for third stream funding through proposal writing.
  • Render operational support to Qwaqwa Campus regarding HIV activities where necessary.
  • Travel to all University's campuses as necessary.


Inherent requirements:

  • Relevant bachelor's degree or national diploma in the Social Sciences.
  • Two (2) years' relevant experience.
  • A valid driver's license.


Required competencies:

  • Intermediate computer skills in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Experience in public speaking.
  • Project management experience.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to function with ease in the University's richly diverse working environment
  • Ability to function effectively as a member of a team, as well as independently
  • Knowledge in the application of policies and the NSP.
  • Implementation of prevention programs and initiatives.


Recommendations:

  • Previously worked in the HIV field.
  • Language proficiency in Sotho.
  • PDP License.


Assumption of duties:

01 December 2018 or soon thereafter.
