We are offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Administrative Officer, with an interest in communications, to join the Centre for Implementation Science (CIS) within the School of Health Sciences. The CIS is a team that is fully funded by the Wessex Academic Health Science Network (AHSN). We apply research methods and data analysis to implement and evaluate new health and care services. Our aim is to increase the impact and spread of evidence into practice for the benefit of people in Wessex.

You will provide a professional administrative service and communications support to a busy research group, based at Highfield Campus.

The work will involve:

  • Organising the diaries of the CIS Director and smooth day-to-day running of the office
  • Maintaining CIS administrative systems, carrying out administrative processes and ensuring controls are in place to ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Updating the CIS website and social media
  • Comprehensive travel management using the University's travel systems and procedures
  • Full meeting/event management
  • Ensuring regular and timely communication with the AHSN, colleagues at the School, Faculty and wider University, and establishing good working relationships with partner organisations

You should have a skill level equivalent to achievement of NVQ3, HNC or A-level, along with previous work experience within an administrative or secretarial support role. You will also be comfortable with contributing to websites and social media in a work context.

Excellent organisational, planning, and IT skills and experience in similar roles are essential, coupled with attention to detail, the ability to manage your own time effectively, the ability to be resourceful under pressure, and a can-do attitude.

This is a part time post working 25 hours per week, with the work pattern to be negotiated.
