Details

A PhD project with Professor Standen will study some aspect of the period c. 600-1400, focusing on relationships between political units such as the Turks, Tang, Uyghurs, Liao, Koryo, Five Dynasties, Song and Xi Xia, and bringing to bear a range of approaches and insights that may include prosopographical methods and combinations of textual and archaeological materials, to study topics such as non-elites, resource extraction, cities, state formation, and chronologies.
