Duties and responsibilities:

  • Verify that all the Faculty of Law modules are accurately scheduled on the semester class timetables.
  • Arrange alternative timeslots and venues for modules that need to be rescheduled on the timetable.
  • Compile test timetable for Faculty of Law modules and arrange venues for tests.
  • Verify that all Faculty of Law modules are accurately scheduled on the semester examination timetables.
  • Print and analyse study records of students.
  • Update booklist of the faculty.
  • Perform all administrative functions related to the research reports of LLB students.
  • Assist the Faculty Manager with general administrative functions when required.
  • Assist with registration of faculty students at the beginning of each semester.
  • Handle enquiries via telephone, e-mail or walk-ins.
  • Receive and send e-mails to personnel, students and the public.
  • Perform all administrative functions pertaining to the Recognition of Achievement Ceremony. These include, but is not limited to the following:
    • Confirm sponsors contact information and contact persons.
    • Identify the top academic achievers per module and per study code.
    • Verify the graduandi and cum laude/summa cum laude/magna cum laude list of students.
    • Invite prize winners/sponsors.
    • Type certificates and programme.
    • Confirm RSVP's and type seating plan.
  • Perform all administrative functions related to the Code of Ethics Ceremony.
  • Arrange catering for all faculty functions/meetings.
  • Arrange and convey examination papers for external moderation.
  • Serve as an alternative to the Faculty's financial officer when required.
  • Serve as an alternative secretary to Faculty Committee meetings when required.

 

Inherent requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree or three-year diploma in administration or a related discipline; and
  • Two (2) years' student administration experience.

Recommendations:

  • Knowledge and understanding of computer programmes such as Microsoft Office, Peoplesoft and the internet.
