The role:

We are looking for a technician to join our dedicated team committed to providing high-quality support to the University of Southampton's community of over 25,000 staff and students. 

This role is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to learn new technical skills and gain experience of working with the users of IT and would ideally suit a student or someone early in their career. This is a meaningful role where you will be supporting the world-changing research and teaching the University undertakes.

You will provide face-to-face and remote support for the University's network of Windows, Mac and Linux computers. You will be responsible for supporting systems including Active directory, Office365, Exchange and a wide variety of other applications and network services. You will take ownership of support incidents and use your troubleshooting skills to see them through to resolution.

We seek:

  • Your experience of using a variety of operating systems including Windows and Mac or Linux.

  • Your clear analytical and logical approach to problem solving. 

  • Your exemplary interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. 

  • Your fabulous customer service skills.

Location: You will be based at our Highfield Campus but may be required to travel to other University sites in Southampton and Winchester when necessary.
