Lecturer (Three-year contract appointment) - Department of Educational Psychology

The incumbent will be responsible for:

• Facilitating learning in undergraduate and postgraduate modules, in both contact and distance education modules
• Developing and co-ordinating programmes and modules
• Supervising postgraduate students' research
• Being involved in and managing funded research projects
• Being involved in proposal and report writing
• Being involved in and participating towards the achievement of the Department's key performance indicators

Minimum Requirements 

• MEd in Educational Psychology/Psychology or a related field
• Teaching and learning experience in a relevant sector (e.g. visual impairment, inclusive education, disability studies, educational psychology)
• Experience in the development and co-ordination of modules

Required Competencies

• Proven administrative and organisational abilities
• Computer literacy and report writing skills

Added Advantages and Preferences 

• Experience in the supervision of postgraduate students' research
• Intention to enrol for postgraduate (i.e. PhD) studies (if without PhD) in the field of visual impairment, inclusive education or disability studies
• Current and recent experience in programme and module development and co-ordination
• Current and recent experience in distance education service delivery
• Participation in funded research projects
• Publication record in accredited journals

The all-inclusive remuneration package for this contract position will be commensurate with the incumbent's level of appointment, as determined by UP policy guidelines.
