Job Details

The School of Education is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified Senior Associate Teacher to assist with delivery of an existing unit Learning Resources in TESOL in line with unit specifications, and provide specialist advice and support for dissertation students on the MSc Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages programme. The post is offered on an Hourly Paid Teacher basis from January 2019, and against the Senior Associate Teacher role descriptor. The exact number of contracted hours for this post may vary but we anticipate this to be in the region of 170 hours, in total.

 

MSc TESOL is aimed at professionals in English language education at all levels. Our students come from the UK and overseas and bring with them a wealth of professional experience, which we draw upon across our units. The programme emphasises research skills both as a means to facilitating access to knowledge construction and improving professional practice.

 

The successful candidate will hold (or be close to completing) a PhD in TESOL/Applied Linguistics or a closely related subject; have a record of successful delivery of teaching content at postgraduate level; have experience of supervising student research; have excellent communication and interpersonal skills; and experience of undertaking assessment in higher education.
