Summary of Opportunity

The Department of Surgery, at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine (LKSOM) is seeking a fellowship trained surgical oncologist to join its team oriented faculty. We are particularly interested in candidates who are motivated to build and grow a dynamic, all encompassing, surgical oncology practice.

The new faculty member will be based out of Temple University Hospital (TUH), a 746-bed tertiary facility Level I trauma center located adjacent to the Medical School on the Health Science Campus. The successful candidate is expected to augment an established hepatobiliary practice, aide in the functioning of a busy breast practice, and develop the regional reputation of Temple for surgical oncology approaches to cancer.

The Department of Surgery has approximately 45 full-time clinical faculty members in eight Divisions and provides the highest quality, most compassionate care to its patients, utilizing state-of-the-art and minimally invasive technologies and techniques to achieve successful surgical outcomes. The Department of Surgery offers potential candidates a uniquely supportive practice environment with an emphasis on quality patient care, research, teaching, individual career development, and collegiality among faculty members.

Qualified applicants will possess an MD or DO with active board certification in General Surgery, BE/BC in Surgical Oncology, medical licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and credentials that will support a faculty appointment at the rank Assistant Professor. Lastly, applicants will have excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills and strong commitment to diversity and inclusivity.
