Australian Cyber Emergency Response Team (AusCERT)

AusCERT is a not-for-profit, leading Cyber Emergency Response Team for organisations in Australia and nearby. Based at The University of Queensland, AusCERT helps members prevent, detect, respond to and mitigate cyber threats. AusCERT publishes vulnerability data, threat intelligence and other relevant resources for information security and IT professionals, and remains on-call for members after hours. Formed in 1993, AusCERT is one of the oldest CERTs in the world.

The University of Queensland (UQ) is one of Australia's premier learning and research institutions. UQ is renowned nationally and internationally for the quality of its teaching and research and enjoys ranking in the top 100 universities globally. AusCERT leverages UQ's IT infrastructure for commodity-type resources, and operates a bespoke environment for specialist CERT infrastructure and tools, internally supported by dedicated security system administrators.

The role

The primary objective of the Events, Marketing and Communications Coordinator is to coordinate AusCERT's events (including the annual AusCERT conference), marketing and communications activities.

 

The person

Desirable personal qualities are a collaborative team spirit and a can-do attitude in line with the culture of all existing AusCERT team members.

Applicants should possess qualifications and or experience in business, communications, marketing or a related field. You should also have a strong knowledge of event management, marketing and communication principles. High level interpersonal and communication skills are essential, including effective negotiation skills, written and oral communication.

Remuneration

This is a full-time, continuing appointment at HEW Level 6. The remuneration package will be in the range $75,957 - $81,714 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of 17%
