Job Details
Compressive testing of composites is notoriously difficult, and current methods tend to give low values of strength due to stress concentrations where the specimens are loaded. This project aims to investigate the sources of variability in the materials and tests, quantify them and propose improved methods.
The Research Associate will be responsible for manufacturing composite specimens and carrying out tests using existing and newly developed test methods.
This position is being offered on a full time, fixed-term contract for 3 months.
Informal enquiries about the position can be made to Prof. Michael Wisnom m.wisnom@Bristol.ac.uk
We appreciate and value difference, seeking to attract, develop and retain a diverse mix of talented people that will contribute to the overall success of Bristol and help maintain our position as one of the world's leading universities.
