PolicyBristol Coordinator

The University of Bristol is looking to appoint a PolicyBristol Coordinator. PolicyBristol aims to enhance the influence and impact of University of Bristol research on policy and practice. The University of Bristol is seeking an excellent individual to help coordinate PolicyBristol's programme of activities and publications that will significantly increase the status, impact and awareness of policy-relevant research at the University, with a focus on Health and Life Sciences. Target audiences include: international, national and local government; public sector; think tanks; industry and practitioner groups; the private sector; and the media.

The Coordinator's responsibilities will include: developing policy briefing papers, supporting policy engagement activities, delivering training sessions, and overseeing online and social media activity. Alongside the Director and the wider PolicyBristol team, the role holder will also play a part in formulating and delivering PolicyBristol's strategy.

You should have excellent communications skills - both oral and written - and be able to assimilate and synthesise large amounts of complex information into accessible language suitable for different audiences. The Coordinator will liaise with academics and external stakeholders on a daily basis, so strong interpersonal skills are essential.  This role will be working predominantly with Health and Life Sciences researchers, so a relevant scientific background is desirable.

This position is for 2 days a week over a 12 month period to  cover the secondment of the current jobholder to Bristol Health Partners.
