Job Details

IT Services has a vacancy for a Technical Assistant within the Logistics Team.  The vacancy is full-time (35 hours per week) and is offered on an open-ended basis.

Primary duties are handling large PC deliveries, setting up the PCs and delivering them around the University to fulfil internal requests.  Additionally, you will be required to maintain accurate records relating to the PCs, receive and respond to enquiries from other teams within IT Services and assist with the good management of this large throughput of stock.

As the Logistics Team is expanding its remit as part of the new operating model, duties are likely to change over the next 12 months, with the possibility of taking on tasks such as collection of waste electrical equipment, assistance with delivering equipment for large scale events, and helping with office and building moves.

These vacancies require movement of relatively heavy equipment within and between offices around the University on a daily basis.  This will involve driving, consequently applicants are expected to hold a full UK driving license and for insurance purposes must be at least 21 years old.  Experience of logistics and deliveries would be an advantage but is not required.

For informal inquiries please contact either Nicola Humphries (Nicola.Humphries@bristol.ac.uk), the Logistics Team Manager, or Simon Speight (Simon.Speight@bristol.ac.uk), 3rd Line Support Manager.

The closing date for applications is Thursday 29th November 2018.

We appreciate and value difference, seeking to attract, develop and retain a diverse mix of talented people that will contribute to the overall success of Bristol and help maintain our position as one of the world's leading universities.
