Scientist - TetraQ reports and studies

Operating within the Office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor Research (ODVCR), the TetraQ mission is to provide best practice preclinical and clinical testing services for clients in the biotechnology sector. The core services and expertise includes the conduct of bioanalytical studies and pharmacokinetics and toxicology studies.

TetraQ has world class state-of-the-art physical infrastructure, encompassing purpose-renovated space and leading-edge equipment, including multiple LC-tandem mass spectrometry systems, within its bioanalytical facility located on located in the University of Queensland Herston campus adjacent to the Brisbane CBD. TetraQ also has a well-equipped animal facility for use in toxicology and pharmacokinetics studies located on the University's St Lucia campus.

The role

The successful appointee will be responsible to facilitate the reporting of TetraQ studies. Duties will include drafting scientific reports, data and report checking, preparation of study files for archiving, assisting with data transfer agreement set up and procedures and drafting of laboratory manuals. All of these duties will be completed in collaboration and with the support with the support of senior scientific staff from the Bioanalytical Services team. 

The person

• Applicants should have a demonstrated ability to write scientific/technical reports with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy. 
• A science degree with Honours in a relevant science (preferably analytical chemistry or pharmaceutical sciences), or an equivalent combination of relevant experience is required.  Post-graduate qualifications in a relevant scientific field would be highly regarded.
• An in-depth technical understanding of bioanalytical methodologies and a knowledge of quality regulated laboratories would be an advantage.  
• The ability to work collaboratively with senior staff and prioritise multiple tasks is essential.

Remuneration

This is a fixed term appointment for up to 12 months at 3 days per week at HEW Level 5. The remuneration package will be in the range $39,809 - $44,459 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $46,576 - $52,018 p.a.).
