The Advanced Water Management Centre (AWMC) is an internationally recognised centre of excellence in innovative water technology and management. The role

The AWMC is undertaking research projects focusing on the pilot scale investigation and demonstration of next generation wastewater treatment technologies. These projects aim to develop novel wastewater treatment technologies and integrated wastewater treatment trains that can increase the bioenergy and nutrients recovery from domestic and/or industrial wastewater and reduce the capital and operating costs. The key role of the postdoctoral research fellow would be to undertake research on a range of novel wastewater technologies at the pilot scale.

 

The person

Applicants should possess a PhD in environmental or chemical engineering related to water/wastewater treatment or a closely-related field and demonstrated expert knowledge in the development and demonstration of cutting-edge wastewater treatment processes and technologies at both laboratory- and pilot scale including problem-solving and trouble-shooting. You should also have a strong desire to support industry and develop a successful and highly-productive research career in waste management, water treatment and sustainable technologies. You should have practical engineering skills, a focus on safety, attention to detail, excellent analytic skills, very good writing abilities, and the capacity to work with multidisciplinary research teams.

This role is a full-time position; however flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.

Remuneration

The appointment will be made on a full-time, fixed-term basis for 1 year at Research Academic Level B, commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience.

The remuneration package of a Research Academic Level B appointment will be in the range of $93,985 - $111,607p.a, plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range of $109,962 - $130,580 p.a).
