The Oncology Service Line offers comprehensive cancer care services to all patients. The services are provided through multidisciplinary teams. Infrastructure facilities include a daycare setting dedicated to oncology patients. Outpatient facilities include clinics of Medical, Paediatric and Radiation Oncology, Hematology, and Palliative Care. The Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Associate in the Oncology Service Line.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible to:

  • assist Business Manager in development of the Department / Section's operating budgets, feasibility studies, goals, volumes, and revenues, Plan Operational and Capital Expenditures in conjunction with area leads
  • assist Business Manager in development of policies and procedures for the department according to AKUH and Department's vision and mission
  • act as a key support person to achieve the department's vision of “Centre of Excellence”
  • perform, prepare, and analyze audit results of the service line, ensure maintenance of Service Line goals and indicators according to set targets, perform variance analysis, formulate strategies, and plan measures to achieve set targets, develop reports and trend analysis of service line's key performance indicators
  • review monthly budget variance reports (BVR) and work on the variances
  • liaise with other Hospital Departments for administration activities i.e. HR, IT, Finance etc. on behalf of Business Manager
  • maintain & update files of faculty & staff as per JCIA standards
  • assist Business Manager / Service Line Chief in developing the annual & probationary appraisal process/ LOE of Faculty members & Administrative staff
  • timely complete, compile and submit  OPPE - “On-going Physician Practice Evaluation”
  • ensure completion of requirements for credentialing process of faculty
  • update the quality manual according to JCIA manual, timely complete & submit  quality reports
  • provide support in planning, organizing and executing various events CME / CPD, Retreats, Seminars Workshops & Symposiums (National / International level), Arrange Logistics for Departmental Events at all Levels
  • overseeing and managing Day Care Oncology administrative issues effectively
  • directly supervise consulting clinics operations; monitoring cash handling activities; monitoring duty roster as well as monthly overtime report and quarterly operational performance reports
  • any other task as assigned by the Business Manager or Service Line Chief.

 

Requirements

You should have:

  • Master's degree
  • 3 - 4 years' experience in an administrative role preferably in a healthcare setup
  • excellent analytical skills
  • proficiency in computer skills, hands on experience in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access,  Visio, Powerpoint, SPSS
  • excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • ability to adopt changes.
