Job Details
The Centre of Precision Rehabilitation for Spinal Pain (CPR Spine) within the School of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation Sciences, University of Birmingham is seeking to appoint a Research Fellow. The appointed candidate will be expected to have ambition to participate in one of the UK's strongest research Schools, maintaining our strengths as a leading research-led teaching department, publishing work of the highest academic quality and impact.
Main Duties
To plan and carry out research in with a focus on:
- Biomechanics, electrophysiology, movement analysis
- Sensorimotor interaction with an emphasis on musculoskeletal pain disorders
- Rehabilitation including novel approaches for pain management
To execute teaching activities in the field of
- Sensorimotor interaction
- Neurophysiology of movement
- Pain physiology
To supervise/co-supervise Master and PhD students
Person Specification
The successful candidate should hold a Master Degree and PhD in Physiotherapy, Kinesiology, Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience or related areas.
The candidate should have experience in:
- Track record of publications in well ranked journals in the field of pain/neurophysiology/ rehabilitation
- Supervision/co-supervision of Bachelor, Master and PhD students
The appointee will have a background consistent with a research focus on pain and control of human movement. The candidate is expected to have a growing track record of publications within these fields.
