Job Details

The Elizabeth Blackwell Institute's Vice Chancellor's Fellowship is a special award for future leaders in research into young people's mental health.

Joining a new research initiative at the University of Bristol, the fellow will design and deliver research to understand and improve the mental health of young people with a particular focus on students. We welcome applications from candidates who are comfortable taking an interdisciplinary approach in their research, particularly spanning health research and social sciences.

Part of the role will be to work with senior colleagues across the University to shape and further develop the Young People's Mental Health research initiative, to design a programme of work and to develop new and innovative projects.

The post is one of a number of post-doctoral fellowships in health research associated with the Elizabeth Blackwell Institute. As a member of the University you would be based within an academic School and Faculty and will benefit from access to our comprehensive programme of support, training and mentorship.

If you are interested in this fellowship please contact Professor David Gunnell, through Deborah Strickland (Deborah.Strickland@bristol.ac.uk) to discuss potential academic sponsors.

Closing date for all applications is 11.59pm on Thursday 10th January 2019.

Applications must be made online (the process is slightly different from the standard one you will be prompted to follow):

  • Please merge your academic CV and your covering letter into one document and upload to the 'covering letter' section of the application.
  • Please upload the Project Proposal and Letter of Support proforma to the 'upload documents' section of the application.

We appreciate and value difference, seeking to attract, develop and retain a diverse mix of talented people that will contribute to the overall success of Bristol and help maintain our position as one of the world's leading universities.
