Job Details
The University of Birmingham (UoB) has a portfolio of clinical research projects conducted under different standards, guidelines and regulations. The Clinical Research Compliance Team (CRCT) is responsible for ensuring researchers within the University are provided with tools, training and compliance checks that will help the researchers, and the University at large, to meet the applicable standards and regulations. The Compliance Facilitator is a member of the CRCT, and their main role is to provide expert support at the time researchers have been awarded funding to set up a clinical research project. As a member of the CRCT, the Compliance Facilitator will also support the QMS management programme, the compliance review programme and training programme.
Person Specification
- BSc (or equivalent), in a life or biological science, or biomedical science.
- Experience of working in an environment governed by regulations and standards. Experience with clinical research, either whilst working in a research laboratory or otherwise is preferred.
- Effective communication (written and verbal), negotiation, presentation, prioritisation, time management and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Demonstrate a critical and intelligent attention to detail and high standards of accuracy.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve problems, and suggest solutions in own area, with regard to the local and wider interests of the College and University.
- Office management and clerical skills that include excellent word processing and document layout.
- Ability to travel in the UK and further afield on occasion. Overnight stays between visits may be required occasionally (3-4 times per year) and on occasion trips may include longer stays (up to 4 nights, Monday-Friday only).

Salary
Full time starting salary is normally in the range £27,025 to £29,515. With potential progression once in post to £33,199 a year.
