Health Care Assistant

Aga Khan University Hospital invites applications for the position of Health Care Assistant, Central Sterile Supply Room.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

• Receiving used surgical instruments from end user units as per the protocol
• Checking surgical instruments/ equipment for cleanliness and taking action to clean for restoring if necessary after washing
• Assembling instruments /equipment after checking and lubrication
• Packing seal and labeling instruments packs and basic trays
• Sterilizing dressings, linen, instrument trays and equipment as per requirement of the end users
• Operating washer disinfector, dryers, sterilizers or any other machinery used in Central Sterile Supply Department
• Assisting in performing daily test required for sterilization
• Cleaning of sterilizer, washer disinfector and other machines and equipment in Central Sterile Supply Department on daily basis
• Checking the stock levels of detergents, disinfectants, glove powder etc. and refill as necessary
• Dispatching surgical packs as per refill requisition
• Replenishing stock of consumables in the packing area when required
• Reporting any malfunctioning equipment/ instruments to the supervisor
• Any other task as assigned by the supervisor/ chargehand.

Requirements

You should have:

• A Matriculation (Science), Intermediate would be preferred
• Ability to organize work
• Good communication skills
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions
• Willingness to work in shifts.
